Dosage
Dosage Information
At 50.00mg/ml, Elysia is one of, if not the most highly concentrated CBD oils available in the United States. This means that with every milliliter of Elysia, you are administering 50.00mg of whole-plant extracted CBD from our proprietary United States-based plant portfolio. Every drop of Elysia contains 2.5mg of CBD.
Drops Vs. Sprays
NAFMO uses drops, not sprays, for administration of Elysia for several very specific reasons. The first and most important is consistency and reliability of the dosage. While using a spray is commonplace, there are several considerations: 1) is the sprayer “metered”? In other words, has the spray nozzle been calibrated to ensure that the same amount is administered with each use? 2) What happens if the “pump” was not fully depressed? By using drops to deliver Elysia, there are no concerns about the patient actually receiving the desired dosage.
Dosing Recommendations
The industry-wide standard for CBD administration is 1 mg of CBD per pound of body weight in a 24 hour period. It is recommended that that the dose is divided across the day with the first 1/3 being in the morning and the remaining 2/3 approximately 1 hour before bed. It is also widely accepted that when beginning CBD oil, the patient should begin at ½ of the recommended target dose.
With Elysia, Determining Your Drop Dosage Is SIMPLE!
As previously stated, it is recommended that, when beginning Elysia, the patient start at ½ of the recommended dosage. All that you need to do is take the patient’s body weight and divide it by 4. That is the number of drops to be administered on a daily basis. Once the “ramp up” phase is completed, simply take the patient’s body weight and divide by 2. That’s it.
“Ramp Up” Phase Dose Calculation:
Patient Body Weight ⁄ 4 = total number of drops/day
Morning Dose: total number of drops/day x .3 = number of drops in morning
Evening Dose: total number of drops/day x .7 = number of drops in evening
Full Dose Calculation:
Patient Body Weight ⁄ 2 = total number of drops/day
Morning Dose: total number of drops/day x .3 = number of drops in morning
Evening Dose: total number of drops/day x .7 = number of drops in evening
